Rangers completed deals for Glen Kamara and Matt Polster in January.

Glenn Middleton has claimed in Friday’s Rangers press conference – as quoted by the Gers’ official Twitter account – that Matt Polster and Glen Kamara have both impressed in Rangers training.
The Gers completed a deal to sign Kamara from Scottish Premiership side Dundee this month, after previously agreeing a contract with the ex-Arsenal star that would see him join Rangers in the summer.
Meanwhile, right-back Polster has completed a move to Ibrox after the United States international’s contract at MLS side Chicago Fire had expired. He faces competition from James Tavernier and Jon Flanagan.
Middleton was asked how the duo have been coping in Rangers training, and stated that he has been impressed by both players.
“They’ve started very well in training,” Middleton said. “Even in training, it is clear to see the qualities that both have. They’re only going to add to the squad, and we hope it is something we can build on.
“Glen Kamara is a holding midfielder that is going to win the ball back, but at the same time he can create stuff himself. Matt Polster is the same, he can drive forward from full back and make things happen. So they’re only going to help.”

It remains to be seen when either player will make their debuts for the side, given the amount of competition. The likes of Ross McCrorie, Steven Davis, Ryan Jack and Scott Arfield are above Kamara in the pecking order.
Rangers take on St. Johnstone on Saturday afternoon at Ibrox, in a match they will be hoping to continue their unbeaten run of five games to keep the pressure on league leaders Celtic – who take on Kilmarnock on Sunday.
