Tottenham Hotspur have struggled in front of goal over recent weeks.
Spurs legend Glenn Hoddle spoke to popular football magazine FourFourTwo, and described how Harry Kane might have to adapt his game upon his return from a six-week injury lay-off.
Tottenham have desperately missed the 23-year-old of late, and have managed to score just three goals in their last five outings in all competitions.
Hoddle, who made 377 league appearances for Spurs during a 12-year stint with the club, explained how Kane may have to conserve his energy when he returns to the first-team fold, as quoted by FourFourTwo:

“He’s not going to come back in great form straight away. He’ll need some time, but during that time, if he can start popping a few goals in, that’ll get his confidence back quicker. That’s what he needs to look at. Maybe he’ll have to change his game a little bit, just conserve his energy and think ‘my job at the moment is just to nick a goal’. I think he has to play a little bit different coming back in the first four or five games.”
Mauricio Pochettino’s men have dropped down to fifth place in the Premier League table, after three successive draws in league competition.

Summer signing Vincent Janssen has struggled to deputise for Kane during his absence, and has managed only four goals for Tottenham – all coming from the penalty spot.
Pochettino’s side face a crucial Champions League game against Bayer Leverkusen this evening, before making the short trip to the Emirates to take on fierce rivals Arsenal on Sunday, and Spurs fans will be desperate for Kane to be a part of the squad for both fixtures.
