Tottenham Hotspur let Gylfi Sigurdsson leave to join Swansea City in 2014.
Glenn Hoddle has suggested to BT Sport, during their live coverage of Swansea City’s match against Everton, that Gylfi Sigurdsson would walk back into Tottenham Hotspur’s team, if they were to sign him this summer.
Mauricio Pochettino has previously suggested that Sigurdsson would be the perfect signing for Tottenham, if he was to make a move to White Hart Lane.
And Hoddle believes that Sigurdsson would improve Spurs’ starting line-up, as well as every single one of their Champions League chasing rival’s squads.
“I think he’d walk into any of the top four’s teams,” Hoddle said. “When he was at Tottenham, he was played in the wrong position.”
Sigurdsson’s last spell at Tottenham lasted for two years between 2012 and 2014.
The Icelandic international never really showed his top form at the North London side, before moving on to join Swansea.
Since switching to the Swans, Sigurdsson has become renowned as one of the top creative midfielders in the Premier League.
Sigurdsson’s future is sure to be speculated about this summer, even if Swansea do manage to survive in the Premier League.
