Glenn Hoddle has suggested to BT Sport that Tottenham Hotspur would be a good destination for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha.

The Tottenham legend believes that it is time for the former Manchester United winger to leave Palace and move to a bigger club.

The former England international midfielder has also suggested that Zaha would get into the current Spurs team.

Hoddle told BT Sport about Zaha: “I think he has got to move. It’s time for him to go to a bigger club. He went to United too early. He is ready now to actually go to another level.”

The Tottenham legend added where asked where Zaha could go: “I think Tottenham. Tottenham could have had him a few years back. Last year they were looking at him. He could get into that team.”

Wilfried Zaha for Tottenham Hotspur?

Zaha is one of the best wingers in the Premier League and is easily the best player at Palace.

Although the 25-year-old struggled during his spell at Premier League and European giants Manchester United, the Ivory Coast international has proved himself since then and has taken his game to another level.

Tottenham do have a settled and strong starting lineup, but there is always room for improvement, especially for a side aiming to win the Premier League title and challenge in the Champions League.

Zaha, though, signed a new contract with Palace only in August, and it is hard to see the Easgles parting company with their superstar in the January transfer window.

Harry Kane tiredness

Meanwhile, Arsenal legend Ian Wright has suggested to The Sun that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane’s recent struggles could be due to him becoming a father again recently.

Wright told The Sun: “When you watch him, he does not look as sharp as we have seen him before. But people don’t take into consideration the fact he has just had a new baby.

“How many other players coming back from the World Cup have recently had a new addition to the family?

“We don’t know what his sleeping patterns are like at the moment so maybe that might have something to do with his form.”

Former Arsenal star Ray Parlour has suggested that Tottenham’s Eric Dier is better suited to playing as a central defender than as a midfielder.

Parlour told talkSPORT about Dier: “I certainly think he’s a better centre-half. I know he’s playing in central midfield and he’s done well there – probably the best game I’ve seen him play was at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea and he was excellent, he was everywhere.

“But I just don’t think he does it on a regular basis. I don’t know what he really brings to the midfield, if I’m being honest.”
