Fernando Llorente joined Tottenham Hotspur from Swansea City in the summer of 2017.
Llorente was left out of Tottenham’s starting lineup for their FA Cup quarter-final tie against Premier League rivals Swansea away from home at the Liberty Stadium.
The Spain international striker, who earns £75,000 per week as salary at Spurs according to Spotrac.com, came on as a substitute in the 73rd minute.
Harry Kane is out injured at the moment, but even in the absence of the England international striker, Llorente cannot get into the team.
The 2017 summer signing from Swansea has not always played well when he has made appearances for Spurs, and Tottenham legend Hoddle has shared his doubts on the future of the 33-year-old at the North London outfit.
Hoddle said about Llorente on BT Sport 1 on Saturday morning (11:48am, March 17, 2018): “If he can’t come back against his old team and play, then he is never going to play, is he?”
Summer exit certain?
It is hard to see Llorente stay at Tottenham beyond the summer of 2018 even if he does perform and scores a few goals in the final weeks of the season.
Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino clearly does not think that the former Juventus star is good enough to start matches.
