Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, Glenn Hoddle has been discussing Tottenham’s start to this season and Heung-Min Son.

It’s fair to say that Son hasn’t had the best of starts to this season. Yes, he scored a hat-trick at the weekend, but he failed to find the net in each of his first six games this season.

Despite the fact Spurs are unbeaten, Hoddle hasn’t been all that impressed by his former club this season, and he believes that the north London club have another gear to find once Son rediscovers his very best form.

What’s been said?

Hoddle spoke about Spurs and how they could improve if Son gets back to his best.

“Back to Tottenham, they’re not playing anywhere near as well as they can or they will do. Conte has got something, the buys have been great, the change around so quickly and there are players who haven’t started yet. If Son starts playing well there’s another level to go to,” Hoddle said.

Seen a glimpse

We saw a glimpse of what this Tottenham team could be when they’re firing on all cylinders this weekend against Leicester.

That first-half performance against the Premier League’s basement boys was far from convincing, but in the second-half when Son came off the bench and came into his own, that’s when Spurs really clicked.

Son’s underperformance this season has led to Spurs being less than convincing in certain games this term, but after going unbeaten in their first seven matches, it’s impossible for the north London club to complain about their points haul.

However, if Tottenham can get Son firing and find that extra gear, they could go from being potential challengers to bona fide contenders for the Premier League title.
