Tottenham Hotspur were beaten 2-1 by Liverpool at the weekend, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side struggling in the contest.

Spurs were beaten 2-1 by Liverpool at Wembley on Saturday, but the scoreline flattered them.
Tottenham were abject for much of the contest, and their distribution was particularly concerning.
Spurs were guilty of giving the ball away in dangerous areas of the pitch on multiple occasions.
And Hoddle said: “I think it’s the worst I’ve seen Tottenham play for a long time. They were poorer [than at Watford].
“I’ve never seen a Spurs side give the ball away so much. They pride themselves on keeping the ball so, so many times. Liverpool weren’t as clinical as they could have been, they could have ended up give.”

Liverpool were strangely profligate during the contest, otherwise things could have got embarrassing for Spurs.
Tottenham, in the end, almost escaped with a point – as Erik Lamela scored a late consolation.
Spurs started pushing for an equaliser in the closing stage, and could have had a penalty had a foul on Heung-Min Son been spotted in the final minute.
Tottenham have now lost their last two games in a row, with big questions being asked of Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
