Glenn Hoddle has raved about the display of Tottenham Hotspur’s Paulo Gazzaniga against Crystal Palace on BT Sport.

Gazzaniga was given his first Premier League start for Spurs against Palace, after an unexpected goalkeeping injury crisis struck and he didn’t disappoint.

With both Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm out injured, the Argentine was surprisingly given a starting role for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

And Gazzaniga had more to do than many expected, as Palace threatened on numerous occasions at Wembley.

Gazzaniga was forced to pull off some excellent stops during the contest, and Hoddle was very impressed by the former Southampton man.

He said: “The reason Spurs are winning this game is the goalkeeper. Gazzaniga has been absolutely superb.”

Gazzaniga is likely to return to Tottenham’s bench in the near future, as Lloris will make it back to fitness after the international break.

Tottenham’s win over Palace has helped to further secure their position in the top four of the Premier League table, with Pochettino’s side currently sitting in third place.
