Glenn Hoddle has raved about Liverpool midfielder Thiago on Premier League Productions.
The former Tottenham Hotspur and England international midfielder believes that Thiago will be a massive player for Liverpool this season.
Hoddle has said that the former Bayern Munich star can be a nightmare for the opposition when he comes on as a substitute.
The Englishman has also praised Thiago’s creativity and his ability on the ball.
Hoddle said on Premier League Productions: “I think Thiago, if he is fit and starts playing, they are a different team. I think he came on as a sub the other day, I think it was Villa, and he got Man of the match. I mean, he is a real top player.
“With Thiago in the team, he can put that ball through the eye of the needle and he can keep the ball if you are winning the game. He is a nightmare if he comes off from the bench and you are chasing the game, you are 1-0 down, 2-0 down against Liverpool, he will just keep the ball for fun, but he has got that killer ball as well. I think he is going to be massive for Liverpool’s chances of winning the league again this year.”
Starting against Manchester United
Liverpool will take on Manchester United at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Thiago is fit and available, and Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has suggested that 29-year-old could start, as covered by HITC Sport.
The former Barcelona star suffered a knee injury back in October and has managed just two starts in the Premier League so far this season, according to WhoScored.
If Thiago starts against United, then it will enhance Liverpool’s chances of picking up all three points against their bitter rivals and current league leaders.
Thiago is calm and composed on the ball, imposes himself in the middle of the park, and has a very good passing range.
