Glenn Hoddle believes Tottenham are lacking a cutting edge.

Former Tottenham player and manager Glenn Hoddle has told BT Sport that he thinks Spurs are lacking a cutting edge in the final third of the pitch.
Spurs drew 0-0 away at Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon, and whilst the result keeps Tottenham’s unbeaten Premier League record in tact at nine games, manager Mauricio Pochettino will have some concerns.
Tottenham failed to break down the Bournemouth defence, and they’ve scored just one goal in their last three games since coming back from the international break.
Tottenham’s Harry Kane
With Spurs chasing the Premier League title, that’s a major concern for manager Pochettino, and he’ll be hoping to get Harry Kane back to full fitness as soon as possible.
The England international has been Tottenham’s main goal threat for the past two years, smashing 59 goals in the previous two seasons before opening this term with two goals in six games.
Tottenham’s Vincent Janssen looks dejected
Kane has now been out for more than a month with an ankle injury, and having returned to training for some light running over the last week, there are hopes that he will be back sooner rather than later.
After Saturday’s goalless draw, former Tottenham player and manager Glenn Hoddle told BT Sport that he feels Tottenham are lacking a real cutting edge in the final third without Kane, even though he wasn’t in the best form of his career before his injury.
Hoddle added that whilst Vincent Janssen has yet to score, he was impressed when seeing him play for Holland earlier this season, and thinks Spurs lack a direct cutting edge among a midfield of talented ball-players.

“I’m not sure that Harry was playing at his very, very sharpest anyway, before he got his injury,” said Hoddle. “He started to get a few goals, and everyone was waiting for it, then got his injury, but for me he wasn’t firing on all cylinders like he was last season – even last season he started the same, very slow, do I think there’s a slight problem there.”
“Janssen has come in, and hasn’t quite yet hit the road running, hasn’t got his Premier League goal under his belt, but played well when I saw him for Holland actually, to be fair. They have got so much possession of the ball, and they’ve got very good players that can retain the ball, but they need that cutting edge, and without that, that’s why they end up drawing away from game in games that they should have won,” he added.
