Glenn Hoddle believes Tottenham Hotspur’s players have taken their foot off the gas.
Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Glenn Hoddle has called out the club’s star players who have recently signed new contracts.
Strong performances last season and a desire to keep the team together saw Tottenham hand new deals to several players, including Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Kyle Walker, Danny Rose, and Christian Eriksen.

Tottenham lost last night to Bayer Leverkusen, their sixth successive game without a win in all competitions.
Hoddle told BT Sport’s post-game coverage of the fixture: “A lot of these young players have signed new contracts. Since they’ve signed them, they’ve taken their foot off the gas.
“It’s something to do with it. There are too many players off colour.”

Tottenham’s Dele Alli
Tottenham received plenty of plaudits after their 2-0 win at home to Manchester City last month, but have not won a game since.
A few disappointing results have now become a slump, and a run of tough fixtures against rivals Arsenal, Chelsea and West Ham this month will provide a real test of character.
Whether subconsciously Tottenham’s young stars have eased up or not, the derby against Arsenal and poor run of results should spark them into life, although playing against an in form Gunners team, they could find out that it is not so easy to simply re-ascend to the heights of their previous performances.
