Glenn Hoddle has told the Glenn Hoddle Footy show podcast that he is not sure that Tottenham Hotspur are good enough to win the Premier League this season.
Tottenham are currently sat in second place behind Leicester City after eight games, which represents a brilliant start to the campaign for Jose Mourinho’s side.
Spurs are the top scorers in the league currently, and they have impressed many observers with their play.
With Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son on fire, Spurs have been a real threat, and all of a sudden they are being tipped as outsiders to win the league.
Both Liverpool and Manchester City look more vulnerable then they have in recent years.
But Hoddle questions whether Spurs are defensively robust enough to last the pace for the duration of a season.
“Can they win something this year? Yes, I think they can. But whether they’re going to win the league – Liverpool and City are still are a long way ahead of Tottenham and other teams.

“But, on any given week, even Liverpool and City can get beaten and points taken off them.
“So it’s a really intriguing season. If Tottenham are there and thereabouts in March or April then they will have a chance.
“But I’m not sure we are good enough in other parts of the pitch. The top three they are as good as anyone in Europe, it’s just in the other areas where maybe we lack that consistency.”
Tottenham’s biggest test is likely to come immediately after the international break, as their title credentials will be strongly examined.
Spurs face games against Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea in their next three league outings – and if they can come through those matches with a healthy amount of points then optimism will only be set to rise even further at the North London club.
