Tottenham Hotspur signed Fernando Llorente from Swansea City on transfer deadline day.

Tottenham secured the services of Spanish striker Llorente from Premier League rivals Swansea on a two-year contract.
According to Sky Sports, Spurs had to pay the Swans a transfer fee of £12.1 million in order to secure the services of the 32-year-old striker.

Tottenham legend Hoddle has admitted his surprise at the move of Llorente from the Swans to Spurs.
The former England international midfielder, though, has suggested that the former Juventus striker is a good signing for the North London club.
“On deadline day, the surprise was Fernando Llorente going to Spurs from Swansea,” Hoddle wrote in The Daily Mail.
“His arrival will give Mauricio Pochettino the option of occasionally resting Harry Kane. Spurs may have to play a different way then, with more crosses, and earlier.”

Llorente scored 15 goals and provided one assist in 28 Premier League starts for Swansea during the 2016-17 campaign.
The Spaniard may be 32 years of age, but he is a proven goalscorer who will prove to be a good signing for Tottenham.
Among the other players that Spurs recruited in the summer transfer window are defender Davinson Sanchez and goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga.
