Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara wouldn’t mind seeing Tim Sparv at Ibrox.

Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara has told Pallokerho back in his native Finland that he loves playing with Tim Sparv and could maybe see him at Ibrox.

The Gers have seen Kamara thrive since securing a bargain move from Dundee in January, though he’s been in and out of the side this season due to Joe Aribo’s arrival.

Now, the 23-year-old is off on international duty, having been called up for games against Greece and Italy in EURO 2020 qualifiers.

Kamara is looking to add to his 13 caps and one goal for Finland so far, and he should play a prominent role in the upcoming games alongside captain Sparv.

The 32-year-old has racked up 70 caps for his country, and has been a virtual mainstay of the squad for around 10 years now.

Sparv – formerly of Southampton – has impressed with Groningen, Greuther Furth and now Midtjylland, with his size, strength and leadership from holding midfield often praised.

Sparv actually played against Kamara last month as Rangers took on Midtjylland in the Europa League qualifiers, with Sparv playing in both the home leg and the trip to Ibrox.

Now, Kamara has been asked whether he would like to see Sparv join him at Rangers, and he suggested that he could see him at Ibrox and enjoys playing with him, though a move obviously seems unlikely given Sparv’s age, and Kamara was most likely just responding politely to an unlikely situation.

“He could be, yeah. He could be,” said Kamara. “I enjoy playing with him,” he added, and whilst a move may not happen, Rangers could do a lot worse than look to Sparv if they feel they need a physical, veteran leader in the midfield alongside Kamara.
