Rangers are back in pre-season training under Steven Gerrard.

Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara has told The Scottish Sun (26/06, p54) that Steven Gerrard’s pre-season has been gruelling so far.
The Gers returned to pre-season training last week, with players given just a few weeks to recharge their batteries before preparations for the new season started.
With Rangers in Europa League qualifying action early next month, Gerrard needs to get his players fit and ready for a tough summer – and then a long season ahead.
Gerrard is embarking on his second pre-season as Rangers boss, but a host of players are working under him for the first time.
One player who has been with Gerrard for most of 2019 is Kamara, but this is his first pre-season with the ex-Liverpool man having arrived in January.
Now, Kamara has admitted that Gerrard’s pre-season sessions have been gruelling so far, claiming it’s the hardest pre-season he’s had for years.

“The plan is to kick on this season,” said Kamara. “Pre-season has been the hardest one I’ve had for a few years. Hopefully it can help me throughout the season,” he added.
That’s a big claim having been on the books of Premier League side Arsenal, but Gerrard clearly wants his players to be extra-fit having started so early and put them through their paces in Portugal.
Hopefully for Rangers, Kamara will get even better after this pre-season, having already starred for the Gers following his January arrival.
