Rangers star Glen Kamara is on the verge of celebrating international success.

His Finland side are currently in an automatic qualification spot for Euro 2020 after opening up a gap over Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina and fellow surprise package Armenia.

This could put the Rangers midfielder in an enviable position, able to showcase his talent at a big international tournament for the first time.

Kamara made his move to Rangers earlier this year. He signed a pre-contract with Dundee, before an agreement was made to fast-track his move to Ibrox at the end of January.

Kamara made an immediate impact and he has established himself as a key player under manager Steven Gerrard.

He has made 14 appearances for the Gers this season including starting both Europa League games.

A huge 2020 is ahead of him, for Rangers as he looks to push on and win the title, and the potential international tournament for his country.

Glen Kamara of Rangers celebrates at the final whistle during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers and Celtic at Ibrox Stadium on May 12, 2019 in Glasgow, Scotland.

The 23-year-old stood out as a talented youngster for Arsenal and was unlucky not to make the breakthrough.

Now he has worked his way into a position where he can hit new heights.

If next summer goes to plan, Kamara will enter the Euros as a champion, and impress on the big stage.

While this second part could have a drawback for Rangers if it generates transfer interest in him, it will underline what a brilliant move it was to sign the midfielder for a bargain fee.

It might even go down as one of the Ibrox club’s best deals for many years, a visionary move.

Kamara needs to work harder than ever now to make sure he can accomplish his dreams over the next 12 months.
