Glasgow Rangers were the last team to win away at Monaco in the Champions League group stages.
Monaco’s stadium
Last night Tottenham Hotspur became the latest team to suffer defeat away to Monaco in the Champions League, and were eliminated from the competition in the process.
Incredibly, Monaco have not lost a Champions League group stage match at home since 2000, when they were defeated by Glasgow Rangers 1-0.
Here is a look back at the Rangers XI from the match…
Stefan Klos
Klos was a Champions League winner with Borussia Dortmund and signed with Rangers in 1999. He went on to win four league titles with the Gers, and kept an impressive clean sheet in the win over Monaco
Bert Konterman
Dutch defender Konterman was one of Dick Advocaat’s signings, and was a Netherlands international at the time. He won one league title at Ibrox before leaving in 2003.
Kerimoglu Tugay
Advocaat’s decision to line Tugay up as sweeper against Monaco was hailed as a match winning masterstroke. Normally a midfielder, the former Turkish international spent a two year spell at Ibrox.
Lorenzo Amoruso
Lorenzo Amoruso after Rangers beat Dundee 1-0 at Hampden Park
Amoruso was a cult hero at Rangers and a key part of their starting XI. He was fortunate not to give away a penalty in the match with Monaco, but apart from one clumsy challenge was a solid influence at the back during the 1-0 win.
Claudio Reyna
Then US international Claudio Reyna spent two years with the Gers before moving on to Sunderland. He is currently a director at New York City FC.
Ian Ferguson
Veteran midfielder Ian Ferguson made more than 200 appearances for Rangers, and this proved to be his last season at the club. He won nine caps for Scotland over the course of his career, and was one of just two Scots in the starting XI.
Giovanni Van Bronckhorst

Dutch international Van Bronckhorst scored the match winning goal against Monaco. The 2000/2001 campaign was also the last of his Rangers career, with Arsenal subsequently snapping him up. He went on to play for Barcelona and Feyenoord where he is now the manager.
Arthur Numan

Another part of the Dutch contingent, Numan spent the final few seasons of his career with Rangers and was a dependable figure, winning three league titles.
Allan Johnstone
The second of two Scots to start, Johnstone spent just one season at Rangers in between spells with Sunderland and Middlesbrough.
Ronald de Boer
De Boer featured in all of Rangers’ group stage matches and his composure on the ball was a key part of their win against Monaco. He spent four seasons at Ibrox, winning one league title.
Michael Mols
Prolific striker Michael Mols was bouncing back from an injury hit season, and did not last the full game against Monaco. He came off after just under an hour and was replaced by Neil McCann.
