Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are said to have had an offer rejected for Kyle Lafferty.

Kyle Lafferty’s past comments about a potential Glasgow Rangers return suggest he would be keen to move back to Ibrox.

STV have reported how Rangers have had a bid rejected for the Hearts forward, with Steven Gerrard keen to bring him in.

Whether Rangers will make a repeat offer remains to be seen, but his past comments on an Ibrox return are interesting.

He said to the Daily Record in 2017: “The longer you stay at a club like Rangers the better you adapt and although it didn’t end the way I would have liked, I still have a lot of great memories and I would like to go back and play for Rangers again one day.”

Lafferty also, rather intriguingly, tweeted about Rangers earlier this summer, suggesting things were about to change at Ibrox.

Lafferty last stint at Rangers lasted between 2008 and 2012, and he became popular at Ibrox during his time there.

Gerrard is known to be looking to add a striker this summer to increase his attacking options.

Alfredo Morelos is currently Rangers’ number one forward, but Gerrard may need another forward to offer competition to the Colombian.
