Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have been without Niko Kranjcar since October.

Niko Kranjcar has admitted to Glasgow Rangers’ official website that his current injury problem has been a ‘nightmare’.

Kranjcar has been out for nearly six months now, after picking up a knee injury.

The Croatian midfielder is unlikely to play again this season, and he admits that it has been a very frustrating start to life at Ibrox.

“The recovery process has been a nightmare, this is definitely the worst injury I have ever had, the longest I had been out before was probably two months and this is between six and nine months,” Kranjcar said.

Kranjcar was expected to be a key player for Rangers this season, but he has had to watch on as his teammates at the Glasgow club have struggled to live up to expectations.

The former Tottenham and Portsmouth man made just 15 appearances for Rangers, before picking up an injury back in October.

Rangers have failed to compete with Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title this season, and they are currently in a battle with Aberdeen for second place.

The Light Blues are sat in third place in the table, eight points behind the Dons in the league standings.

Rangers are next in action after the international break, when they take on Motherwell in two weeks’ time.
