Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have had a mixed start to life under Pedro Caixinha.

Glasgow Rangers boss Wes Foderingham has told the Glasgow Evening Times that his instructions have changed considerably since Pedro Caixinha took charge at Ibrox.

Caixinha has been keen to get Rangers playing with a more aggressive and direct style since taking over the Glasgow side.

Warburton’s possession based approach appears to have been scrapped, in favour of a less risky build-up style.

And Foderingham believes that once Rangers get used to their new manager’s alterations the benefits will be clear next season.

“It’s a different style of play,” Foderingham admitted. “My take on it is that I was playing out from the back a lot under the previous regime. With this regime if you can play out you play out but if you can’t you go long.

“There is no right or wrong, it’s just different ideas and a difference of opinions between managers. What you have to do is follow the manager’s instructions and believe in what he’s bringing to the table. And the boys are doing that.

“When any manager comes in he brings his own philosophies and style of play, how he sees the game. If that is different to before then it is going to take time to adjust.

“That’s not to say we can’t do it. We can. We are taking on board what he is saying and trying to implement it. Once we go away, have a break and come back for pre-season we will have the extra hours on the training pitch and I think that will stand us in good stead for next season.”

Foderingham has maintained his place as Rangers’ number one stopper since Caixinha took charge, despite the addition of Jak Alnwick in the January transfer window.

The former Swindon stopper has been a reliable performer for Rangers, in what has been a rather disappointing campaign.

Rangers did bounce back from two Old-Firm defeats last week by beating Partick 2-1.

And the Light Blues will next be in action at the weekend, when they take on Hearts at Ibrox.
