Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are said to be interested in snapping up Umar Sadiq from Roma.

According to a report in the Scottish Sun, Glasgow Rangers are after Umar Sadiq from Roma, but the transfer would have to be considered a gamble.

Steven Gerrard has reportedly identified the striker as a player who could improve Rangers’ attacking line-up next term.

But Sadiq hardly has any first-team experience in his career to date, so Rangers would be taking a big punt by bringing him to Ibrox.

Sadiq did spend part of last season on loan with NAC Breda in Hollanad, and he found the back of the net five times in 12 games.

But Sadiq hardly has a proven track record of finding the back of the net, and that means there are no guarantees that a move to Glasgow would be a success for the forward.

Rangers have been linked with the likes of Jermain Defoe and Dominic Solanke already this summer, and either of the pair would be far more proven options than Saqid.

And even though the Roma forward should not be written off before he even arrives at Ibrox, Gerrard would be taking a gamble by bringing him in.
