Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers should make a move for the Sunderland man, once compared with Steven Gerrard.

Jack Rodwell was once labelled the next Steven Gerrard by his former teammate Phil Jagielka, and Rangers should take a look at the midfielder now.
According to the Chronicle, Sunderland are willing to loan out Rodwell – and that could be a gamble worth taking for Rangers.
By only committing to sign Rodwell on a temporary spell, Rangers would not be stuck with the England international, should the move fail to work out.

But if Rodwell was to thrive at Rangers, then he could be a brilliant addition to the Light Blues’ side.
The central midfielder was once touted to have an extremely bright future, with his former Everton teammate Jagielka one of a number of people to publicly big up the Sunderland man.
He said, back in 2010, to the Liverpool Echo: “He’s a young lad and one of the better athletes in our team. His touch is immaculate, his vision’s good and he’s right and left footed. If we can get him running at teams as proven by the Manchester United game and tonight there are more dimensions to his game.
“It took Steven Gerrard a couple of seasons to shrug off the defensive midfielder tag and become an all-round midfielder and now he’s obviously a goal-scoring attacking midfielder. Where Jack will end up I wouldn’t put any money on, but at the moment if we are positive with him we can put him out there. When he came on for Ossie in the Hull game he did fantastic again.
“He is happy and if he is setting up goals and scoring goals, then he is going to be progressing very well.”

However, Rodwell’s career has taken a turn for the worse ever since he left Everton.
Rodwell moved to Manchester City and, most recently, to Sunderland and he has failed to show his best at either club.
Rangers should now look to rescue him from his Sunderland nightmare this summer.
Rodwell has spoken of having a desire to play for England again, and he would arrive at Ibrox with a point to prove.
And if Gerrard could somehow coax the best out of Rodwell again at Ibrox, he would be one of the best midfielders in Scotland and a potential bargain addition.
