Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers could be looking for a replacement for Graeme Murty at the end of the season.

Ajax's coach Marcel Keizer delivers a press conference in Amsterdam on December 8, 2017 ahead of his team's Dutch premier league football match against PSV.

Glasgow Rangers should avoid Marcel Keizer and look elsewhere, even if the Dutchman does want the job.

The Scottish Sun has suggested that Keizer has put his name in the hat to take over from Graeme Murty, if the current Rangers boss leaves at the end of the campaign.

Murty’s future at Ibrox is currently uncertain, with the 43-year-old yet to be offered a contract to stay on as manager.

And Keizer has now reportedly suggested that he would like to take over from Murty, should the opportunity arise.

Rangers manager Graeme Murty is seen during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers and Aberdeen at Ibrox Stadium on January 24, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

However, Rangers would be unwise to take a punt on Keizer and should look elsewhere.

Rangers have already seen the importance of knowing the league, after having Pedro Caixinha in charge.

Caixinha had shown promise abroad, but came to Scotland and failed to impress during his time in charge of the Light Blues.

Keizer may argue that his stint in charge of Ajax proves that he has the ability to manage Rangers, but he was only at the helm for a matter of months.

His managerial career, prior to taking charge at Ajax, has hardly prepared him for being in charge of a club of the size of Rangers.

And if the Light Blues want a promising young coach, then they may as well stick by Murty.

Murty has had a critics, but he has also shown signs of promise since taking the reins at Ibrox.

And unless Rangers can find a more appealing upgrade on Murty than Keizer, then they would be better off keeping faith in their current manager, for the sake of stability.
