Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers would be making a statement signing by bringing in Ibrahim Afellay.

Glasgow Rangers should take advantage of Ibrahim Afellay’s current situation at Stoke City and attempt to bring him to Ibrox.
Afellay has reportedly been told to stay away from Stoke’s training ground, with his contract set to be cancelled at the end of the season.
Rangers should now consider bringing the Dutchman in, as he could be an ideal replacement for Niko Kranjcar.

Afellay was brought up at Barcelona, and would be one of the best technical players in Scotland if he was brought in by Graeme Murty’s side.
The attacking midfielder is currently said to be on £30,000-a-week at Stoke, so may have to take a slight pay cut to join Rangers.

But if the Light Blues really want to kick on and start challenging Celtic, then a signing such as Afellay would really show that they mean business.
And Rangers should make sure they are right at the front of the queue for Afellay’s signature in the summer.
