Glasgow Rangers should consider appointing Frank De Boer to replace Pedro Caixinha at Ibrox, as their search for a new manager continues.

Caixinha parted company with Rangers yesterday, after what has been a poor start to the new campaign from the Light Blues.

It leaves Rangers looking for a new boss for the second time in 2017, and De Boer should be considered among the potential managers to take over at the Glasgow club.

When Rangers were last looking for a manager De Boer was looking for a Premier League job, with his brother, Ronald, saying to TalkSPORT: “Frank, he also is patient. He waits until there is an opportunity. Who knows? Maybe in the Premier League there is an opportunity for him.”

Frank De Boer did get his Premier League chance with Crystal Palace, but he failed to take it.

The Dutch boss was quickly sacked, after Palace failed to win any of their first four league matches this term.

De Boer is now looking for a new opportunity, and managing Rangers could look more appealing for a him now he needs to revive his career and restore his reputation.

De Boer had great success at Ajax, but his last two jobs – at Inter Milan and Palace – have not gone according to plan.

De Boer does know what it takes to play for Rangers though, having represented them during his playing days.

And the 47-year-old could be the perfect man to help Rangers get back to their best, as he looks to improve his own managerial reputation.
