Newcastle United have made Adam Armstrong available, and Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers could be a good fit for the forward.
Glasgow Rangers should consider making a move for Newcastle United’s Adam Armstrong, with Rafael Benitez’s side reportedly willing to sell him.
Steven Gerrard appears to be looking to mix a blend of youth and experience at Rangers, and Armstrong could be another promising addition to add to the Light Blues’ squad.
The Newcastle forward may not have performed at Premier League level, but he has torn apart League One on more than one occasion.
Armstrong scored nine goals over the past campaign from out wide, after joining Blackburn in January, and he previously smashed in 20 goals as an 18-year-old playing up-front for Coventry in England’s third tier.
If he was brought to Rangers he could complement the squad well, and he could provide a cheaper alternative to Oliver McBurnie.
Rangers are thought to be preparing a sizeable offer for McBurnie, according to the Scottish Sun, but Armstrong could be just as exciting an option.
Although McBurnie has proven himself at a higher level, Armstrong’s track record of scoring goals is lengthier than McBurnie’s.
The pair are very differing players, with McBurnie possessing a greater aerial threat, and Armstrong offering more pace.
But the Newcastle man would still be a fine addition for Gerrard to make at Rangers, and if he is available the Ibrox side should be at the front of the queue for the youngster’s signature.
