Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers shouldn’t consider trading Alfredo Morelos for Martin Skrtel.

Rangers were interested in Skrtel earlier on in the transfer window, but signing the Slovakian should no longer be considered a priority.
Rangers have already brought Nikola Katic and Connor Goldson to Ibrox this summer, to tighten up their backline.

Steven Gerrard now has his central defensive pairing for next season in place, and even though Skrtel was once an appealing option, he is no longer needed.
Rangers would now be better off sticking by Morelos, as he looks a better long-term option.
Skrtel is now 33, and would only help improve Rangers’ team over the short-term.

But Morelos is a player who Gerrard could develop on the training ground over the years ahead, as he is still in the early stages of his career.
And Rangers should stick by Morelos, rather than accepting any trade deal Fenerbahce are planning to offer them.
