Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers signed Joey Barton from Burnley in the summer transfer window.

Glasgow Rangers new boy Joey Barton has defended his own form on the Jim White Show on TalkSPORT, which was broadcast on 16th September.
Barton’s initial performances for Rangers have come under criticism, as they have fallen short of his own high standards.
The 34-year-old admits that he has been off the pace since joining Rangers, but he insists that nobody at Ibrox can be pleased with their form.

“I’ve played five games! I played against Hamilton and got man of the match, so I can’t have played terribly,” Barton said when asked about his own form at Ibrox.
“I’ve played a few games since and I haven’t been Lionel Messi, but I’ve never been Messi in my career.
“When I look the team isn’t functioning well. Okay, I’m a huge part of that, but we’re all not playing well.”
Barton missed a lot of pre-season with Rangers, and he is still settling it at Ibrox.

However, after making a number of outlandish statements prior to joining, there was an expectation that he would hit the ground running.
Barton’s poor display for Rangers in the Old Firm derby against Celtic has caused him to take a lot of ridicule, and his start to life in Glasgow has not gone as planned.
Barton has been ordered to stay away from Rangers training at the moment, and he will not feature in Mark Warburton’s side’s match against Ross County at the weekend.
Barton is due to have clear the air talks with Warburton on Monday, with his Rangrs future currently in the balance.
