Andy Halliday has told the Glasgow Evening Times that he has no intention of leaving Glasgow Rangers this summer.

Halliday has dropped out of Rangers’ starting line-up in recent weeks due to injury, but he has returned to training recently.

Halliday has made 35 appearances in all competitions for Rangers this season, scoring on five occasions.

However, his starting place is expected to come under pressure in the summer transfer window.

Rangers new boss Pedro Caixinha is likely to make a number of additions during the summer transfer window.

However, Halliday insists that whatever happens at Rangers – he is not interested in leaving Ibrox.

“I want to make an impression all the time. I wanted to do it week in, week out when Mark Warburton was manager. When you are playing, you are playing to try and stay in the team.

“Right now, I’m playing to try and get back into the team. I’m sure the whole squad knows that the new gaffer is, quite rightly, going to bring his own players to the club in the summer. So it’s up to us to put in performances to try and stay in this squad.

“For me, the only way is down after you leave Rangers, so we all want to stay here, that’s for sure.”

Halliday could come back into starting contention for Rangers at the weekend, when they take on Motherwell.

Rangers could move to within five points of second placed Aberdeen, if they are able to beat the Steelmen.
