Jason Cummings made his Rangers debut in last night’s 2-0 win over Aberdeen at Ibrox.

The 22-year-old replaced Alfredo Morelos – who opened the scoring – on 70 minutes but could not mark his bow with a goal.

Fans of the Ibrox club gave the new striker – who joined on a half-season loan from Nottingham Forest – a huge applause when he came on.

Jason Holt of Rangers vies with Jason Cummings of Hibernian during the Scottish Championship match between Hibernian and Rangers at Easter Road on April 20, 2016 in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Cummings is well known to Rangers fans after a prolific stint with Hibernian which included a number of battles with the Gers during their two seasons in the Championship.

And the Forest hitman has claimed on Twitter that the reaction to his arrival last night was “unbelievable”.

Rangers manager Mark Warburton looks on during the Scottish Premier League match between Rangers and Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Ibrox Stadium on December 24, 2016 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Cummings bagged 47 goals for Hibernian during his last two years at Easter Road, culminating in interest from Rangers under Mark Warburton, though it never materialised.

Warburton did, however, get his man eventually and signed him for the Championship club last summer, though the Scottish hitman only managed one goal in eight league outings this season prior to his loan.

Still, the talent is there and few would be surprised if he doesn’t pick up where he left off in Scotland.
