Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have been linked with Fulham midfielder Ryan Tunnicliffe recently.
Glasgow Rangers have recently been linked with Fulham midfielder Ryan Tunnicliffe and if they do manage to sign him, the 24-year-old would come with Sir Alex Ferguson’s recommendation.
Pedro Caixinha has spoken about increasing the aggression in his side’s ranks.
And Rangers are now said to be interested in bringing Tunnicliffe to Ibrox.
Tunnicliffe’s career has stalled in recent times, with the midfielder receiving limited game-time at Fulham and out on a series of loan spells.
But there was a stage, during his younger years at Manchester United, when Sir Alex Ferguson was very excited about Tunnicliffe’s potential.
He said to the Guardian: “The team that won the FA Youth Cup last year were almost all local boys and they’re all starting to emerge in their own different ways.
“Most of them have been involved in the first-team squad this season….
“Jesse Lingaard, Zeki Fryers, Paul Pogba and young Ryan Tunnicliffe, who is at Peterborough and playing regularly in the Championship at the age of 18. That’s good going.”
Tunnicliffe may not have fulfilled his early promise, but he could still be a key player for Rangers.
Rangers have generally brought in players from abroad this season, but Tunnicliffe has a proven history in British football.
If Tunnicliffe was brought to Ibrox he would be in a competition with the likes of Ryan Jack, Carlos Pena and Jason Holt for a place in Caixinha’s first-team.
