Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have been linked with Ipswich Town’s Christophe Berra for some time.

Glasgow Rangers have got their wish, after Christophe Berra’s exit from Ipswich Town was confirmed today.
According to a report in the Edinburgh News, Rangers have had their sights set on signing Berra since March.
The Ibrox side reportedly feel that the Scotland international will enhance the quality of their backline, but complications in any deal originally existed.

Rangers did not want to spend much money on Berra, after taking into account his lack of re-sale value, meaning his switch to Glasgow was likely to depend on him being able to force an exit.
Ipswich have now confirmed that Berra has left due to personal reasons, after Tractor Boys boss Mick McCarthy hinted at the defender’s exit yesterday (HITC).
Hearts have also been linked with Berra, but if Rangers do make a move it could be a deal which is difficult to turn down.
Rangers are believed to be looking to make a number of additions this summer, as Pedro Caixinha battles to upgrade the quality of the options available to him at Ibrox.
