Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers squeezed past Dundee in their last fixture.
Glasgow Rangers forward Harry Forrester has told the Glasgow Evening Times that when the Ibrox crowd stays behind the team it really helps.
Rangers fans have been frustrated during some of their matches this season, and there has been an audible tension in the crowd.
Rangers supporters have sometimes vocally expressed their annoyance with the players, and Forrester admits that he understands the pressure that the Light Blues’ squad are under.
However, the former Doncaster Rovers man insists that it really helps the side when Rangers fans remain with the team.
Forrester believes that the backing Rangers got against Dundee in their last match was one of the reasons why they were able to get the victory in the last minute.
“I was warming up about the 70th minute and the crowd really got going,” Forrester, who scored Rangers’ winner against Dundee, said. “It was really loud, it was electric and that gives the players a lift.
“I was on the side thinking ‘come on, let’s go to another gear’. You understand their frustration when it doesn’t come off but they are our twelfth man.
“The more they stick with us, the more positive the players will be and the better the results will be.
“We understand that they pay good money to come and watch us play and they expect a performance.”
Rangers have disappointed with their performances since being promoted to the top flight.
Mark Warburton’s side have fallen short of expectations so far, and they currently sit in third place in the Scottish Premiership.
Rangers are next in action on Saturday when they take on Partick.
