Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are said to be aiming to make Martin Skrtel their first summer signing.

Skrtel is currently at Fenerbahce, but Gerrard is said to be keen to bring the centre-back to Ibrox when he takes charge.
And the potential to link back up with Gerrard at Rangers may appeal to the Slovakian international.

“When I found out he was leaving it was bad news for me,” Skrtel said to the London Evening Standard, back in 2015, when Gerrard left Liverpool.
“Obviously he was here for such a long time and when you say Liverpool it’s always Steven Gerrard. It will be different next season and Liverpool will never be the same.
“I can say only good things about him. From the first day I came to Liverpool he was here to help me. He gave me a hand every single day with everything I needed. I need to say thanks for that.”
Skrtel could now show his gratitude in the best way possible, by re-joining Gerrard at Rangers.

The defender would be an eye catching addition for the Light Blues to make, with Rangers set to be very busy this summer.
Gerrard is expected to make major alterations to his Rangers’ squad, as he looks to ensure they become title contenders next season.
Skrtel would surely be an upgrade on any of Rangers’ current options at centre-back, and his experience could be vital as Gerrard looks to make a positive start to his career in management.
