Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers were beaten 4-3 by Spartak last night, with Steven Gerrard’s side slipping to their first European defeat this term.

Glasgow Rangers fans want Ivelin Popov signed by Steven Gerrard, after his display for Spartak Moscow last night.
Rangers took on Spartak in Russia yesterday and were beaten 4-3 in what was a pulsating encounter.
Neither team covered themselves in glory defensively, but Rangers and Spartak showed their quality going forward.
And Popov was at the heart of everything good that the Russian side did.
The Bulgarian international was a real threat to the Rangers defence throughout the contest.

And Rangers fans now want the Bulgarian international brought to Ibrox as soon as possible.
Rangers have already used their European matches as scouting exercises this season, with Borna Barisic being snapped up after impressing for Osijek earlier this campaign.
Getting Popov to sign from Spartak may be a more difficult task for Gerrard’s side in January, even though Rangers are said to have money to spend in the new year.
