Glasgow Rangers fans have called for Martyn Waghorn to return to Ibrox this summer.

Waghorn was sold by Rangers last year, after being deemed surplus to requirements.

However, the striker has gone on to score frequently for Ipswich in the Championship, and there are now Rangers fans who want Steven Gerrard to bring the forward back to Scotland.

Waghorn has consistently posted messages to Rangers fans on social media since leaving, and appears to have a genuine affinity towards the club, despite his departure.

The 28-year-old scored 44 goals in 78 appearances for Rangers during his time in Glasgow.

Rangers do appear to be in the market for a forward, but whether Waghorn will be on Gerrard’s radar remains to be seen.

Rangers have recently been linked with bringing Umar Sadiq in on loan to bolster their strike options.

If Rangers did sign Waghorn again this summer, he would be in competition with Alfredo Morelos for a first team place.
