Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers striker Umar Sadiq has struggled since signing in the summer.

Glasgow Rangers fans have lauded Steven Gerrard following his comments, which read as a dig at Umar Sadiq.

Rangers lost 1-0 to Aberdeen in their last match against the Dons, who they take on again on Wednesday night.

And Gerrard said that he was looking forward to seeing his Ibrox side take on Aberdeen with a proper striker up-front.

He said: “This is a different game, it’s at Ibrox. We have only had a recognised striker on the pitch for 12 minutes over two games so it will be great to have both Morelos and Lafferty available.”

The comments, of course, completely overlook the fact that Sadiq started up-front for Rangers the last time the Light Blues took on Aberdeen.

And Rangers fans have enjoyed Gerrard’s ruthless comments about their striker.

Rangers is still contracted to Rangers, but it is expected his loan could be terminated.

It is thought that Rangers could be on the look out for a new number nine in January too, as they aim to strengthen their front line.
