Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are said to be interested in signing Stewart Downing from Middlesbrough.

Glasgow Rangers fans do not appear at all keen on Stewart Downing moving to Ibrox.
The Teeside Gazette have suggested that Rangers are keen on signing Downing on a free transfer.
The winger’s contract at Middlesbrough has just expired, meaning he would be available on a cheap deal to move to Rangers.
But fans of Steven Gerrard’s side believe that they should be looking elsewhere.
Downing and Rangers boss Gerrard know each other well as they were teammates at both international and club level.
Downing had a limited impact at Middlesbrough last term though, and his best years seem to be behind him.
Rangers have shown a willingness to bring in older players though, with the likes of Gareth McAuley, Jermain Defoe and Steven Davis all joining despite being beyond 30.
