Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are set to let go of Daniel Candeias, with Steven Gerrard suggesting a move was close.

Glasgow Rangers fans are generally disappointed after Steven Gerrard suggested that Daniel Candeias could leave Ibrox this summer.

Gerrard has told the Glasgow Evening Times that Candeias could be on his way out of Rangers, as he is in talks with Genclerbirligi in Turkey.

“I had a conversation on Wednesday with Daniel and he said he wanted to go and speak to a team in Turkey,” Gerrard said.

Rangers fans are not best pleased with the decision to sell Candeias though and are disappointed with Gerrard’s decision.

Candeias has been at Rangers since 2017, and has been one of their most consistent players over that time.

The Portuguese wide-man is a tireless worker, but Rangers have improved their attack this summer.

Rangers have brought in a whole host of forward options, which have seen Candeias dropp down the pecking order.

Rangers are still thought to be working on a deal for Ryan Kent, and if Candeias departure does lead to the Liverpool winger coming back, then the Ibrox side’s supporters’ disappointment could turn to joy in the coming weeks.
