Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are said to be keen on Jon Flanagan of Liverpool.

Glasgow Rangers supporters generally appear excited over the rumours that Jon Flanagan could be the next new arrival at Ibrox.

The Daily Record have suggested that Steven Gerrard wants to bring the Liverpool defender to Rangers this summer.

Flanagan’s career has stalled in recent years, but Gerrard is reportedly convinced he can get the full-back back to his best at Rangers.

And the Ibrox crowd suggest that Gerrard would be making a good signing by bringing Flanagan in.

Flanagan is capable of playing at either right-back or left-back, so could be a valuable asset for Rangers next term.

Rangers already have James Tavernier at right-back, but there appears to be a gap in Gerrard’s first-team on the left-hand side of their defence.

Gerrard has been quick to strengthen his defence since taking charge at Rangers, and Flanagan would be another signing designed to strengthen up his side’s backline.

Gerrard has already used his links with Liverpool to secure one signing for Rangers this summer, with Ovie Ejaria arriving on loan.
