Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are looking for a new manager, and Chris Coleman has just become available.

Glasgow Rangers fans have called for Chris Coleman to take charge at Ibrox, rather than Steven Gerrard.

Rangers are said to be on the verge of appointing Gerrard by BBC Sport, but Coleman’s unexpected sacking from Sunderland yesterday has presented them with a potential opportunity.

And there are a number of Sunderland fans who are now calling for Coleman to be brought in at Rangers rather than Gerrard.

Coleman has actually struggled since taking charge at Sunderland, and could not save them from relegation to League One.

However, the Welsh boss has a lot more experience in a managerial setting than Gerrard, and that could be key at Rangers.

Steven Gerrard of BT Sport looks on during the Emirates FA Cup Final between Arsenal and Chelsea at Wembley Stadium on May 27, 2017 in London, England.

Whoever takes over at Ibrox has a huge task on his hands, as Rangers are so far behind Celtic currently.

Rangers were beaten 5-0 in the Old-Firm derby yesterday, with their performance drawing a lot of criticism.

And whether it is Gerrard or Coleman who takes charge at Rangers, big changes are going to be needed to be made next season.
