Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers new boss Steven Gerrard will be hoping that he can keep Graham Dorrans fit for next campaign.

Dorrans was sent home early from Rangers’ training camp in Spain, to have an injury to his knee assessed.

And the results of the scan have shown that Dorrans’ injury is nowhere near as bad as first feared, which has pleased Gerrard.
“We are really happy with the news and what we discovered on the scan,” the new Rangers boss said.

“There was a chance it could have been serious, but the scan has come back with good news.”
Dorrans only arrived at Ibrox last summer, and his first season at Rangers was plagued with injury.
The former Norwich City man struggled to stay out of the treatment room, and he made just 12 league appearances for Rangers.

When on the pitch Dorrans had an impact, with the 31-year-old netting on five occasions, but Rangers had to do without him for much of the season.
If Dorrans does manage to stay fit this time around, he could help to improve Gerrard’s midfield options at Ibrox.
Dorrans is in competition with the likes of Jordan Rossiter, Greg Docherty and Ovie Ejaria for a first-team place at Rangers.
