Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are next in action at the weekend, with Borna Barisic and Connor Goldson potentially fit for Steven Gerrard’s side.
The Rangers summer signing has been out since September with injury, but is now edging back to full fitness.
The Croatian could even feature for Rangers in their next match, which comes against Livingston.
And Gerrard’s side is also boosted by the news that Connor Goldson will be available at the weekend.
“Borna is very close; whether he is available for the weekend we will make a decision in the next couple of days,” Gerrard said. “But over the next two or three games Borna will be back in the squad.
“Connor Goldson is fine again too, that was more of an illness rather than an injury which kept him out against Motherwell. He has recovered well and he is available for the weekend.”
Barisic’s return for Rangers is excellent news for Gerrard, as nobody has made the left-back spot their own in his absence.
Jon Flanagan has generally struggled when given a chance, and Barisic is likely to go straight back into Rangers’ first-team when available.
Rangers went into the international break on the back of a 7-1 victory over Motherwell, and will be hoping to rebuild that momentum again when domestic matters start up again.
If Rangers do beat Livingston at the weekend they could go to the top of the Scottish Premiership table, if other results go in their favour.
