Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are expected to be active in the January transfer window, after Steven Gerrard’s latest comments.

Rangers have unexpectedly lost Ovie Ejaria recently, while Umar Sadiq’s loan was been terminated early.
It leaves gaps in Rangers’ squad which need to be filled, and Gerrard has hinted that his January plans have now changed.
“Have you read my emails to the chairman? It makes us a little bit lighter, two bodies down, so possibly,” Gerrard said if Rangers now need more additions than he had previously planned.
“It might be a mix (of loans and permanent deals). I don’t know right now. In an ideal situation they come for longer than a loan. That’s always the priority – can we find players who are going to come here for a long time?”

Ejaria has reportedly asked to leave Rangers, despite playing an important role so far this season.
The youngster felt that a switch back to Liverpool and away from Ibrox was what he wanted.
Sadiq, meanwhile, did not show that he was good enough to play for Rangers during his time in Scotland.
Rangers have already been linked with a range of playmakers and strikers who could replace Ejaria and Sadiq.
The Light Blues are expected to have the funds to strengthen in January, as they look to protect their place at the top of the league table.
