Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are set to take on Cowdenbeath in the Scottish Cup this evening.

Rangers Manager, Steven Gerrard looks on during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premier League between Celtic and at Ibrox Stadium on December 29, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Glasgow Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has confirmed to the Scotsman that Jermain Defoe and Steven Davis will be part of his squad for the first time against Cowdenbeath this evening.

Rangers have brought in both Defoe and Davis this month, which has created great excitement at Ibrox.

It was not known whether the pair would be thrown straight in this evening, as Rangers take on Cowdenbeath in the cup.

Rangers would be the heavy favourites with or without Defoe and Davis in their squad.

But Gerrard has suggested that the two new signings could well be involved this evening.

“They will both be involved and I’ve been delighted at how they have settled in,” Gerrard said. “They have raised the quality in training and they are both humble and professional guys.”

Rangers will be looking to get the winning feeling straight back after the winter break, as they look to build momentum again.

Gerrard’s side beat Celtic in their last outing, to thrust themselves into title contention, and they will be looking to get back to winning ways as soon as possible.
