Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers ran out 1-0 winners over Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic when the two sides met last month.

Rangers Manager, Steven Gerrard gives his team instructions during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premier League between Celtic and at Ibrox Stadium on December 29, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Glasgow Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has told BBC Sport that Celtic targeted Daniel Candeias in the Old-Firm derby, but nobody noticed.

Rangers won 1-0 against Celtic at Ibrox last month, but the match was not without controversy.

Celtic have complained about the refereeing standards in the contest, with the Bhoys feeling that Rangers man Alfredo Morelos should have been sent off.

Rangers striker Morelos lashed out at Celtic captain Scott Brown during the contest, and was involved in a number of off the ball incidents.

However, Gerrard feels that nobody noticed that Celtic had given Candeias some rough treatment of their own.

“I’m not really that interested, it’s nothing we can control. That is Celtic’s business,” he said.

“There were things in the Old Firm that were missed from our behalf, especially on Daniel Candeias. He was lucky not to come away with a serious injury.

“But we have moved on from the Old Firm.”

Rangers win over Celtic was secured when Ryan Jack finished from inside the box.

Rangers are now level on points with Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership table, with the title fight really hotting up.
