Glasgow Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha is likely to hate reading Motherwell star Ryan Bowman’s comments to the Glasgow Evening Times, following the Scottish League Cup semi-final.

Rangers were beaten 2-0 by Motherwell at Hampden Park yesterday, and the Light Blues could have few complaints about the scoreline.

Rangers never got going in the match, and Bowman felt that Caixinha should take a large portion of the blame for his side’s defeat, as his tactics played right into Motherwell’s hands.

“They were playing long balls which suited us, they were playing into our hands really,” Bowman said.

“We have three big guys at the back who can deal with those all day.”

Motherwell scored both their goals against Rangers through Louis Moult, as they progressed to the final.

Motherwell will now take on Rangers’ Glasgow rivals Celtic in the final of the Scottish League Cup.

Caixinha, meanwhile, is under serious pressure at Ibrox – with the calls for him to be sacked growing louder.

The Portuguese boss promised Rangers would make a big improvement this term, but he is yet to guide the Light Blues to three victories in succession.
