Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha is convinced that Barrie McKay could offer his side more.
Glasgow Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha has told the Glasgow Evening Times that he wants to see Barrie McKay make improvements.
McKay has been one of Rangers’ most in-form players in recent weeks, with the 22-year-old making a big impact in the Ibrox’s side’s last two outings.
However, Caixinha still sees areas where McKay needs to improve.
The Portuguese boss claims that McKay needs to show a greater willingness to get involved, when things are going against Rangers.
He said: “What does he need to do more? He needs to be more proactive. The game is a lot of phases and stages and I want all the players to be keen on the game.
“If things are not coming they need to look for it. When he needs to sacrifice he needs to do that as well.”
McKay’s future at Rangers is currently uncertain, with the Glasgow club said to be weighing up whether to offer the winger a new contract.
McKay has suggested that he wants to stay at Ibrox, but he is still waiting to be presented with new terms.
At the moment McKay’s contract with Rangers has just over a year left to run, and Nottingham Forest are believed to have a close eye on the situation (Nottingham Post), ahead of the summer transfer window.
