Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are set to get their league campaign under way this weekend.
Rangers are without both Tavernier and Kranjcar for their opening league game of the season, which comes against Motherwell at Fir Park on Sunday.
And the Portuguese boss has suggested that the pair could still be out for a while yet, with neither given a return date.

“Only James and Niko,” Caixinha said, when asked if Rangers were without any players due to injury.
“We don’t know when they are supposed to return. Maybe James before Niko, but that is all that we have so far.
“Niko has a problem with his hip, and James has a problem with his foot. Danny is back in training with the team and has had minutes against Sheffield.”
Tavernier’s and Kranjcar’s injuries are blow for Rangers, as the pair were both likely to be starting against Motherwell.
Tavenier looks set to be Rangers’ main right-back for the season ahead, while Kranjcar had impressed over pre-season.
Kranjcar missed much of last season with injury, and will be determined to make it off the treatment table as quickly as possible.
Rangers are under pressure to start their league campaign well, with some doubts still lingering over Caixinha.
Rangers’ crashed out of the Europa League last month, and will need to prove that they have made a big improvement in domestic football if Caixinha is to win the Ibrox side’s supporters around.
