Celtic and Motherwell are due to face each other in the League Cup final, after Steven Robinson’s side knocked out Rangers.

Glasgow Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha has told the Scotsman that he believes Motherwell will have a man sent off in the League Cup final against Celtic, if they continue to play so physically.

Rangers were beaten 2-0 by Motherwell in their last outing, as Steven Robinson’s side’s caused an upset at Hampden Park.

But Caixinha has criticised Motherwell’s robust tactics, and suggested that Celtic could have a numerical advantage in the match by the end of 90 minutes.

“Motherwell will play the final and I wish them all the very best,” Caixinha said.

“They will play the same way and I know that they will not finish the game with 11 players if the officials make the right decisions, which they didn’t do on Sunday.”

Caixinha was not the only Rangers man who criticised Motherwell’s tactics after the contest.

Bruno Alves also suggested that Well had been far too physical in their approach, and that they should have been more strongly reprimanded.

Celtic will head into the League Cup final as heavy favourites to lift the trophy, as they remain unbeaten in domestic football since Brendan Rodgers took charge.

Celtic booked their place in the final by beating Hibernian 4-2, with Mikael Lustig and Moussa Dembele both scoring braces.
